We are No. 1 In The IBT
The students of ETON did the school proud with their sterling academic performance during the annual International Benchmark Test held February this year, given by the Center for Educational Measurement, Inc. (CEM), in partnership with the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). Other than the Philippines, more than 10,000 students the world over - the United States, Singapore, Oman, Qatar, Sweden, England, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Australia - use this prestigious global assessment. Since 2004 to 2010, ETON's International Topnotchers in English, Math, and Science have average scores between 96% to 99%.
Several students became topnotchers in their favorite subjects. The youngest in the group is Abegail Santos, a Grade 4 student, who easily aced Science Level 5. On the other hand, Lemuel Austin Constantino, a Grade 5 student, grabbed the top place in two heavy-weight areas, in Science and Math Level 6. Another Grade 5 student, Avi Salvador, is also a high scorer of Science Level 6. To complete the top team, Grade 5 student Valerie Viluan bagged the top place in English Level 6.
For three years now, ETON International School has persistently performed well in the annual International Benchmark Test. It has produced and honed students who always landed on the top ranks of the round of tests in English, Math, and Science. ETON is proud of the following students who consistently became IBT topnotchers since 2007, such as Lemuel Austin Constantino, Avi Sophi Salvador, and Valerie Viluan. In addition, Abegail Santos was also a topnotcher in her field since 2009.
ETON International School is a partner of CEM in upholding academic excellence since the school joined the IBT program in 2007. ETON teachers in Math, Science, and English review the lessons according to the prescribed curriculum in preparation for the IBT round of tests. On the day of examination, a CEM proctor administers the tests to the students.
A pioneer in the field of educational assessment in the Philippines, CEM provides diagnostic information on students' academic strengths and needs in the areas of English, Mathematics, and Science. Together with ACER, CEM helps create and disseminate knowledge and tools that provide feedback to inform and improve teaching and learning. Through the IBT partnership program, CEM helps schools to make effectual and useful assessments of students' performance according to international benchmarks.
